I remember when one of my grandmothers was about 96 or so (she passed at 98), we did a big box of food staples for her as well as a box of craft/hobby things that she enjoyed doing.

She still lived alone in her 100 year old 3 story house...so we also included "coupons" of sorts, for jobs that needed to be done around the house. Like, if it was time for the pest control people to come out....it was paid for with that "coupon", etc.
