Default question

I think the number of puppies has a large effect on puppy size as a rule. One or two pups in a litter can be larger then a litter of 5 to 6...I do think we can overfeed a bitch and she will gain too much weight, often causing more difficulty whelping. The key is to feed a well balanced diet in several smaller meals per day as opposed to two large meals...I feed pregnant girl 4 times per day in the 6 to 9th week..dividing the same amount of calories in to the these 4 meals...it is more comfotable for the bitch and her digestion.

I think over feeding the in the last week can add puppy weight in some bitches..others eat liek ROtties and have very tiny birth weight pups...that is why breeding is an art, not a science IMO....
