Basically it is to save hard drive "space", as pictures can be up to 10 or 20 MB in file size for one photo. Thus we required photos to be under 200kb in file size or smaller to be uploaded to YorkieTalk.

If everyone shared photos without resizing, we would not be able to store many photos on our server. We currently have over 165,000 picture attachments, and over 13,000 photos in the YT Photo Gallery. If we did not have size requirements, we would not be able to store as many photos and attachments.

You can always upload your photos to a place such as Photobucket or flickr and then provide a link to your photos in your post if you would like.
