When Conner was a puppy, he slept in the porta crib next to the bed. If he woke up at night, I would put my hand in and he would go back to sleep. I would get up early in the morning and we would play for an hour or so, get ready for work, then put him in the porta crib in the living room (we had two). I work 6 hours a day, so my sister would come to my house to feed him lunch and let him out for a while. I think it took us a little longer to get him potty trained outside because of work, but at 1 year he was fully trained with no accidents. I have an xpen now that I use when I go to work. He has his bed, food and toys. My sister still comes over at lunch time to let Conner out and give him some stimulation. When I get home, it it playtime until bed!!! We made a huge mistake in putting Conner in our bed when he whined (because he wanted to be with us). Now he sleeps in our bed, nestled up against me most of the time and hubby some of the time.
