I can understand getting them out from underfoot if you have a lot of guests over. One day I plan to have a nice bedroom for my dogs so I can put them in there if I need to...I'd worry about the safety of my pets being around a lot of guests. But no way would I "banish" them just because I had a guest staying the night!

Oh, and whoever it was that said people bring their kids by without asking...they just assume it's okay. I agree! Not everyone loves kids or wants them in their house. You should never assume a child is welcome to an event or party either!
