One of my friends has a yorkie and we think one of his dewclaws grew back (didn't notice it until he was like 7 months). He tore it on the carpet one day and she had removed soon after that when he was neutered. The bone is hardened when they get older so it's more like an amputation so doing it when she's spayed will be the best time to do it. Dewclaws are just a nuisance..they can get caught on things like carpet and tear easily.
