My doc put me on Restoril today because the Ambien CR quit working and Rozeram is like placebo for me. Also Trazadone does nothing.

I took the 15mgs of Restoril at 9pm and here it is 12:20 am and I feel nothing. Not even the least bit tired Ughhh I hate having insomnia
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. As I am lucky to be asleep by 3-4am every night
I had terrible, terrible insomnia for about 10 years! After about 4 years, I finally went to a sleep doctor. Like you, trazadone did NADA - which is apparently shocking bc it is supposed to knock you out. Ambien etc. is nice, but their half-life is so short - so it may not last all night.

What worked for me beautifully was Prosom (estazolam). I never had to take it every single night for a really extended time, so I never became to "tolerant" of it. I would often have 2 weeks of terrible insomnia - so I'd take it then - and then I'd eventually be able to sleep on my own again, so I'd be off of it. Other stretches of time - I'd take it on average about 3-4 nights a week, and not need it the other nights. Really odd, but it worked for me.

Good luck - true insomnia that drags on is really quite tortuous, so I hope you find something that works.
