That back nail definitely needs cutting. You can run into problems when it curls like that. Lulu hated having her nails cut but I kept at it. What I do is after her bath I wrap her in the towel and take out a paw at a time and cut her nails. I like to do it after her bath because the nail is a bit softer. It's scary to cut their nails because it's so dark. But what I do is use a good cutter and I just take a nip at the end...maybe an eight of an inch. For this time I would take him to the groomer or vet to get them cut. That way it can get cut down nice and to a comfy level for you. I cut Lulu's nails every week when I bathe her that way it stays fairly short. Their nails will grind down naturally if you walk them alot.
