Shana so psyched. You definitely dropped your plug and had a bloody show. I think that bag should be packed and ready. The hospital usually suggests only bringing your stuff and then the day your to go home to have hubby bring the baby's going home outfit. Also have him get out the baby car seat and set up the base in the car so you won't be fumbling with it when the time comes. Note that the day he brings you home you have to have the car seat for the baby or the hospital gets a bit snippy.
My bag always included:
1) disposable camera
2) comfy pj's (nothing new and expensive because you tend to have a leak at times, make sure the pjs are comfy for nursing if your going to be doing that)
3) Socks and slippers (I am always freezing after I give birth)
4) Your own pads (they give you these damn boats in the hospital)
5) Lotion and your regular toiletries
6) Snacks (sometimes after you labor it's too late when your taken to your room and you feel peckish and can't get a thing to eat, good for hubby too while your laboring)
7) A list of folks you want to contact when your done
8) ****A girdle panty**** I know that this might sound weird to some but every time I have given birth that was a godsend. After delivering with the contractions of the uterus and while nursing you get a lot of cramping. That girdle panty and the snugness feels so good. It also helps to keep your pad in place nicely. I have recommended this to any one else I have known that was ready to give birth and they have told me how much it also helped.
9) Nursing bra (if that applies to you)
