Can anyone offer any advice on pet insurance? My boyfriend really wants me to sign up our dog because he thinks it will help save lots of money on her preventative care. After looking into it, I'm not so sure it would save any money.

The monthly fees are around $35-$40 and then you only get a percentage back from the company for vet visits. I think insurance may be a good idea for emergencies, although I'm not sure whether just saving the $500 a month in a savings account might be a better idea.
