Canned food won't make him overweight unless you feed too much. Dry food has just as much potential to make a dog overweight as canned does. I'd give a good supplement if I fed dry or canned food...I think the cooking destroys a lot of the nutrients. I feed Lacy a raw diet, and while I don't think she really needs it, I still give her a supplement called Juice Plus for Dogs. I also give her a fish oil/Vit. E supplement
