I still want a yorkie, I've obviously learned my lesson, and if others can have large dogs and yorkies, then why can't i.

Because, like people, not all dogs are alike. I am sure your lab is a wonderful
housepet and did not mean any harm but your other doggie lost his life
even though it was an accident. Why would you even consider bringing
in another toy dog. Aren't you afraid of it happening all over again.?
I would be. Why put another puppy's life in danger. Get a larger breed
so the two can be on even ground and enjoy life together.
I can't imagine living in a home where two breeds live independent lives.
Never being together. I would think that would be very stressful for
everyone.
Sometimes what we want is not what we should have at the moment.
I am sorry this happened to you but please give yourself time to reconsider.
Good luck,
