I was in the kitchen, which is a large one, took her out of the pen to let her run in the kitchen, buddy was laying on the floor. She must have bit him in the belly or somehwere soft because he never even got up or growled or anything. he just must of gave her the warning nip, but with such a small dog, that was all it took. I would have taken her to the vet and spent thousands to fix her but there was no time. My husband and i sat on the floor crying while she died within seconds. There was NO TIME. buddy just looked around, STILL LYING THERE, not defensive or anything. HE still has no clue what he did and I do not think i should be punished for this now. I want a yorkie, and i learned that i absolutely cannot have them in the same room. I don't get it cause i see other owners on here all the time with big dogs and yorkies. He just was not used to her yet. |
I don't think a little nip would have killed her...he had to have put his mouth around her body and bit pretty hard to have punctured a lung. It's not that you are being punished for what happened. You just need to think of the best interest for any puppy you're thinking of bringing into your life. You already have one dog - your lab, and unfortunately he is untrustworthy around small breeds. You can say it was an accident and it probably was, but it still happened, and it could happen again.
