Sylvia get some tea tree oil or the tea tree oil shampoo from petco/petsmart etc and wash the ear. Lex had a touch of that on his ear when I got him. I treated it with that and it went away.
He is not outside that long that his ears will get very cold. Plus their coats are so thin anyways it's not like it will have much protection anyhow if he did have all his hair.
