This is so true. I have always advised if you are short of funds do not buy a dog of any kind because the maintenance will put you in the poor house.
Good food and good health care is so expensive today so even with an animal from a shelter that you may only have to pay a couple hundred dollars for it does deserve good care. In typing this post I am not only thinking of the dog but you too.

Maybe you can put aside a fund and add to it little by little and you never know when your financial situation will improve. I'm so sorry you lost your yorkie, it's heart breaking and the holiday season seems to be a time you want to fill that void but think it through wisely and do the best thing for you and a new yorkie you may have some day.
