glucoasmine is my first choice too. my dog has grade one LPs and she's on a glucosamine supplement but no anti-inflammatory because she isn't in pain. If however she got to the point where it started bothering her i would try the anti-inflammatory and then have the sx done. i wouldn't use pred, steroids are not needed imo for a simple LP
