With all the break ins and Yorkies being stolen I would think possibly

Take her to the vets and have her ear taken care of and have her

You are so right, Carlie deserves a chance because she didn't ask to be born, and just like with skin children we need to take care of them and let them grow to have a healthy, happy life.
