Default Enlarged or Dilated Windpipe

I just got back from the vet w/Tahoe. While we are awaiting the radiologists evaluation of the xrays, the vet expressed concern about what appears to be any enlarged windpipe. He said the lower trachea looks okay, but the windpipe leading to the trachea is dilated (therefore NOT a collapsed trachea). Has anybody heard of such a condition? Unlike a collapsed trachea, i cannot find anything about it on google.
