I waited and waited to get LillyBelle spayed. I was so afraid of having her put to sleep. She was 1 1/2 yrs old just barely 4lbs, and had a false pregnancy, with milk and everything. So I did have her spayed. I picked her up the same day, got extra pain medicine from the vet. She did absolutely fine. And in just a few days was back to normal.
