I am so very very sorry for you, my heart is breaking. I know how fast your heart can melt. Please, take your time and recover from this tragic incident and then when you are healed, open your heart and start your search all over. There are so very many good honest reputable breeders out there who will treat you fairly and honestly. I would request to speak to the breeder's vet about her dogs in general and the vet care they receive.
Most of all, listen to your instinct. If your "gut feeling" tells you to walk away, then walk. It breaks your heart to have to leave a precious little sick baby behind, but you also have to be careful to protect your babies at home.
