I don't like taking pups away from moms or moms totally away from pups until the pups are at minimum 4 mos old. Mom's aren't nursing their pups anymore of course after aobut 8 or 9 weeks of age, but they sure interact and play with them.
At least mine do; and I give them the chance to do that.
the pups are still learning doggie social skills from mom at this point too.
