Please don't leave your dog there overnight if there is nobody there to watch him. If someone is there, it is fine but not necessary. Ellie came home just over four hours after she was spayed, had a dental and a liver biopsy. I stayed up all night with her but I didn't have to. I was concerned because she could barely move but she was fine. There is no reason a routine neuter with no complications to stay overnight (or a spay for that matter).
