I was investigating a product called Angel Eyes for my Mother-In-Law. She has an apricot poodle with horrid eye stains. The product is made from Tylosin as Tartrate and beef liver. Of course I just had to know what Tylosin was and what if any side effects. This little tidbid of information really slapped me in the face. It is a antibacterial agent that is quite safe for use in small animals and dogs, however..... one of the major side affects is that: Tylosin may falsely elevate certain liver blood tests (ALT and AST). If your furkid has had an unexplained elevated ALT or AST and is currently on a Tylosin drug this might be the reason.

It might be a good thing to mention this to your vet if you are using a Tylosin based drug and are going in for a liver profile.
