pepe mint might be someone good to talk to. Her little Maggie broke her leg, and they thought at one time it might not be right. Everything turned out well for her. And there are a couple of members that have a rescue in Colorado and they are currently going thru this with a yorkie they are trying to help.
Maybe someone knows a specialist or a University vet program near you.
