It's amazing that the article says that people don't think this is a major problem over there. It's also sad that the man had to leave the puppymill without doing anything because he didn't see any "cruelty" as defined by their laws. I would think that hundreds of animals living under these conditions would be considered cruelty.
In my search for a yorkie, I spoke to a man in the Bronx who sold Irish yorkies. I can't remember if he said it was through a family member in Ireland, but that sounds familiar. I'll have to go look at his website. Thankfully, I spoke with a member on here about this person and guided her elsewhere in the area. Ooohh... Now I hope she took my advice. I also came across Celtic Irish Pups in my search. I actually spoke to a member here who got her yorkie through this woman and she said that her puppy was quite expensive. The profit these people make at the expense of poor sickly puppies is disgusting. It's amazing that people would knowingly sell puppy mill puppies and lie about the situation to potential buyers. I would never be able to sleep at night. |
