I would highly suggest that you have him neutered if you aren't planning on breeding him. There is newer technology where they use a laser instead of a scalpel and it reduces their pain by so much. It also helps them to recovery much faster. When my oldest had it done earlier this year he bounced back in no time. I waited too long with him as he is close to five years old. Now he is set in him ways and the things that I would like to break him of. Why do they have to keep him overnight? If you are afraid of this, I would find another vet for the neuter. There are many places where you can bring them in first thing in the morning and pick them up after lunch. Good luck in your decision but it really is best for their health (this eliminates the chance of testicular cancer).
