It happens all the time. It is a way for more $$$ to come back to the breeder and not have to pay for stud service or for an ethical breeder to continue with their lines. The difference is, does the selling breeder have anything in the contract about co-ownership or how many times the stud can be used and protecting their lines. The contract is the key and how it is written.
