I worked for our local school district for 8 years. If you have children in school, it can be the very best job to have, as your schedules will be close to the same. I was paid my 9 months salary over a 12 month period and did have 10 sick days, 3 personal, even though I was part time.
The very best part about working for the school - you fall in love with some of the kids. And, it helps to keep you young at heart.
