I completely agree with the can idea! My can is filled with beans, but it worked wonders. The whole idea is to startle them from barking and then praise them when they are quiet. By the end of a single day, he understood what the can meant and now we don't have the problem at all.
Also, my dog hates being blown on (I don't know if this is a dog thing, or a Yorkie thing, or my own guy's little quirk) but I have one of those aerosol cans and just the sound of it (I never do it on him) makes him stop being naughty.
Just remember, persistence is key! You can definitely train your little one to be quiet! |
