I'm the office manager of an elementary school have been at my school 19 years.....I'm an 11 mth employee and have 3 weeks off in December/Jan, 1 Week for Spring Break, 1 Week for Fall Break, All summer (but I'm always setting up for the new school year) and per our union get 16 paid vacations days per year (depends on how many years you've been with the district) and our sick/emergency personal days accumulate each year. The benefits are really good for those who work full time, but not so good for the paraprofessionals who only work 3 3/4 hrs per day...they get no benefits...just sick/vac days. I'm on salary so I get paid twice a month...(not even my principal gets that..hehehehe) My pay rate isn't bad either.....but I am up their in the steps of payrate that our district/union contracts sets.... I love working for the school district....and my retirement plans aren't too shabby either....
