I have been dealing with my puppy doing this since I got him at 9 weeks. He has been on 3 antiobiotics and still coughing/gagging/wheezing. They diagnosed him with kennel cough/bronchitis. They have listened to his heart and did not hear any signs of a heart condition. They mentioned collapsed trachea. We put off having xrays yesterday because of financial reasons. I feel like he might have gotten a cold and it turned into pneumonia. Because of his age, I think it has taken him a long time to recover. I have heard that kennel cough can take up to 4 weeks to go away. Someone mentioned nebulizer treatments, keeping them extra warm at night. Yoda is taking a steriod to help. I have been very frustrated and tired of worrying about this. I have not slept well since he started this!
