Don't ever discipline in anger. Same with children. Have a plan of correction. Mine respond to a stern "UhUHHHH". Sort of in a low growly tone. If they continue, I clap and and vocalize my displeasure again.

Never, never hit a dog. It only serves to make them head/hand shy. If you have an exceptionally tough little soul to deal with, keep a flyswatter within vision. When misbehavior happens (not usually wee wee accidents, more like fighting, or violence) a quick slap on the wall with the flyswatter will stop them in their tracks. They will learn to stop barking or fighting or misbehaving when they see you reach for that flyswatter.
