My Maltese had three knee surgeries. She was young also. She seems fine, no pain, but her one knee still slips a little. So, I'm wondering if later, down the road she will end up with arthritis, because of the slipping. If you don't get the knees fixed, they will end up with terrible arthritis later in life. She's eight years old now. I got her from a pet store before I understood about pet stores and it has cost me dearly. She also had a hernia repair. But she has the sweetest most loving personality of any dog I've ever seen!
