The breeder from whom I got Chuy is giving me a little girl in lieu of payment for designing his website and he's been offering me some advice on this subject. He's telling me to spend more time with Chuy than the baby for the first couple weeks to help Chuy understand the new baby isn't taking his place in the home. He said as long as the new one is getting attention, she won't mind being "second" as that's what she'll be used to until Chuy is adapted to her. Once he starts making advances toward her, usually after a couple weeks, then I'm to include her in our play sessions. Now that doesn't mean ignore her all together, as it's important she has her time, but just give more to your current baby for a short time.
