He might have gotten water in his ear while getting bathed and that could have caused an infection or since you said she plucked the hair out of his ears she could have pulled too much at one time and created a little sore. I'm sure she didn't do this on purpose. I'd take him to the vet in case he does have an infection, this way you'll be able to get him some meds.
