Some updates.

Jesse had an appointment with the vet this morning. No surprises that everything this woman told me about him was a lie.

He is not 16 months, but rather somewhere between 2 and 3 years old.

He is not microchipped, though she told me he was.

Thankfully, he is in great health. He was revaccinated today for everything because I never received his medical records and don't trust that he was well taken care of.

I also decided to have him neutered today. I wasn't going to just yet, but I'm leaving him at a Petsmart Petshotel in 2 weeks and if he is not neutered, he can't play in the play area with other dogs. I feel bad enough leaving him while I go on business, and the idea of him in solitary confinement not allowed to play with other dogs was too much to bear. My vet assured me tht within two weeks he will be bouncing around.

Also, he had earmites. Lots of them. My vet let me see them under the microscope! Eew, they look like cockroaches! My vet told me that generally, for a dog to have earmites, they have to be living in very terribly, dirty conditions, usually with lots of other dogs around.

Puppymill, anyone?

I am reporting this woman to the SPCA. Hopefully they can shut her down and help all of the other dogs that I don't doubt are suffering.

Thank you all for the kind wishes. Thankfully, I was able to save Jesse and he is happy, healthy, and more loving with every passing day.
