I bathed Mocha a few days after he came home. I now give him a bath once a week. I use Minksheen on his body and Johnson's baby shampoo on his face. I used to use a wash cloth to clean his face daily, but I've recently started using baby wipes and they work great. I get the sensitive unscented kind so it is very gentle and doesn't irritate him. It's also great for wiping their paws and private areas after they potty. There are also pet wipes that do the same thing, but they're always more expensive. Most people prefer the baby wipes over the pet wipes. Anyways, I use the baby wipe to clean his face, then I use a flea comb to get his eye boogies out. I blowdry Mocha after a bath. He's very used to the blowdryer now. I also bought a pet specific one, as it is quieter and also comes with a stand. I'm not sure at what age you should take them to the groomers, and I haven't taken Mocha yet. I do his upkeeping on his bath days (nail trim, ear cleaning, trimming/shaving etc.). With all the horror stories out there about bad groomers, I'm too chicken to bring him to a groomer. Until I'm lucky enough to find a good, trustworthy groomer, I'm going to be grooming him myself.
