Can he eat 1.5-2 medallions twice a day? Otherwise, you could do 3xday at a.m., 6pm, and 8pm - that would work too. If he doesn't eat the kibble, he's probably not getting what he needs.
My Marcel is a 3-pounder and he can easily consume 2 medallions at one time...
