Ava likes to chew shoes (especially crocs). She will carry it from wherever she found it and prance right in front of me like "I found it, and you thought I couldn't". I have ignored her to see what she will do. She will wait a minute and pass in front of me, pause shake her head so I can see she is chewing it.
