I know that it can even happen between those that know each other on a personal basis....but, there is less chance if you buy a dog from someone that you can visit their facilities, put your hands on a dog and develope a relationship with the breeder. Especially when you are purchasing a show or breeding dog. |
Yes, I know that screening doesn't always cut it. But it helps weed out a bunch. Heck, you know from being on here, that there have been two or three times I have screened YT members, thought they were great had many phone conversations with them, then found stuff out and cancelled the sale and returned their deposits. it has happened to me at least three times right on here. i will cancel a sale in a heartbeat. I guess the point I was trying to make is in regards to the comment that reputable breeders do not sell on puppyfind. Some do. But, I have even encouraged people that have contacted me that it is always better if they can find a breeder close by so they can go and see the puppy. I believe that is still the best way to go but is not always an option.
