I laughed when I read Schatzies post.
We never paid for a dog until we got our mastiff, Mackey, and fed them all the store brand dog food. Wanted a pickup guard dog since hubby got all his tools stolen out of the back in San Marcos. Well, Mr. Mackey would not hurt a fly - I suspect he would help anyone load up stuff if he could, but he is my 165 lb baby. Anyway, he and all the outside dogs eat Ol Roy and they do fine. THey do have huge poops because of the ingredients though. I can experiment with the expensive food for the yorkies since they are so small. I get the good stuff for them because of their coats and Waya had a sensitive tummy when we got him (not more!) Then Chuhga got pregnant and I had to give her loads of extra stuff just to keep her weight on (didn't succeed - she is just now getting weight on) When I boil chicken or chicken liver, Waya and Molly (our daughters 12 year old Chihuahua) get the goodies too.
