I am in total agreement with OFAing. I had no idea that my champion had a problem until I had her checked out to breed. Her x-rays confirmed hip dysplasia in both hips, so there was no need to OFA. She has not and never will be bred. Since there is no DNA marker for these types of problems I would be very careful in checking out pedigrees of other dogs before using them in my breeding program as well as my own dogs before breeding. An OFA certification is about as good as it gets for now |
