Bully sticks seem to trigger my one normally completely passive dog to become a little grumbling meanie when I take his stick away, so he gets them in limited amounts and I make him work for them, then give them to me when I tell him to so that he's learned to be "polite".

I started when they were babies teaching them give. They will actually sit and wait until I say ok when there's a toy on the ground. When I give them the OK command, they can go play with it.

Start by giving them a toy or treat and taking it, then praising like crazy when they give it w/o any negative reaction, give it back AND also give a treat. Continue to do this in 5 minute sessions until the behavior is natural

That's what works for me!
