You can get Meklizine from your vet...that's the only thing that works for Jo. I think I've figured out Jo gets more nervous about getting near or in the car...he just trembles at the sight of it...and the upset stomach is a side affect of the nervousness. The Meklizine helps calm him and he's fine...I use it when we drive from Illinois to Florida and home again and he does great.
There's also a new drug that my vet wanted me to try but we were leaving the next day and I didn't want to try it going so far from home. It's called Cerenia but you can only give it for 2 days in a row so if it's a short trip that might not be what you need. |
