well, since you're not in agreement with crate training it makes it hard. But I do want to let you know, my guys LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE their crates! They run in there all the time (on their own) to take naps or sneak off with a nice chewy treat so no one will bother them. I never shut them in. haha they just fly in there on their own. But, the only other option I can say is either A. pee pads or B. a belly band. Have you tried either of those yet? Feel free to PM me and I can further help you out. My dogs will go outside, but yet they still use their pee pad in the house. It's a saving grace! One of my males gets a belly band b/c he thinks marking furniture is fun (NOT FOR ME!).
