Sorry I am so late getting this update but it has just been a horrendous day [personally]! First off, Reese can't be scheduled until Thursday but we have been assured because of the "age" of the break it won't make it worse. He is being kept extremely comfy by his foster Mom and I know that he misses his family, but he is happy as a clam. I think the wait is much harder on us than it is on this little man. We won't know what the surgery will require until Thursday but recovery will be about 4-8 weeks depending on whether they have to put in plate, pins, etc. It does mean that Santa probably won't be able to take him home by Christmas Eve ... but he will deliver him in his "Santa suit" whenever Reese is healed up and it's OK with the vet!!
Also, arrangements will be made for the little girl to visit Reese when he has his surgery and at least once a week until he's ready to come home. I am so excited about all this, I'm sure I'm forgetting something but I will make notes and post again later. I know we can never thank you all enough for your generosity and prayers ... this couldn't have happened without you all!!
One very important thing that I almost forgot. After learning Reese's story, they will speak to the Dr. and explain the situation and they feel certain he will give us a break on the cost!! Yippeeee!!!
