There are lots of good tips on the other thread. My only thought I can add is do research before the trip. If you have a lengthy layover between flights, look for a place where you can let them out to potty. Many airports have a dog area you can go to, and if they don't you can use the family bathroom and wee pads. Good luck and have a great trip.
