To address the CKC issue...yes, they are a well known registry, but like any registry, they are only as good a their breeders. Sadly, CKC seems to be a safehaven for millers and people who have been suspended by AKC.  It's those kind of unethical people that have contributed to the stereotype that ALL CKC breeders are scum with poor quality dogs. That is not the case.  There ARE some CKC breeders who strive to do what is right by the dog. So please don't ever think that your little fella is any the 'lesser' because of the piece of paper that came with him.  |
Well said! You need to pay more attention to the breeder and not the registry. Unfortunately, there are also AKC breeders that are unethical and will sell you a pup that is no where near the AKC standards, who breed to downsize and make more money off pups that are substandard size. If you breed right you won't make a dime, won't have to rehome and won't contribute to the continuation of genetic problems within the breed. JMO
