My Sophie is now 8 months old and my parents hadn't seen her in a few weeks so when they came by this weekend they where bragging on her for being so calm. The same thing with my friends they came over this weekend and where amazed at how much she had calmed down. She still played with them and loved on them when they first got there but then she would go lay down and only come when she was called. She was super hyper when she was a puppy so I think your Joey will calm down too. It just takes some time.
