There is usually an expiration date on all food - dry food, canned, and raw. If you are feeding dry, I would not buy a huge bag that takes your dog months to go through as the food will go stale and the fats and oils will get rancid. I'd buy several smaller bags at a time. A lot of foods can last on the shelves for a very long time.
